14-Night Golf & Wine Trail
Day 1 Meet and greet in Auckland where we'll either meet you at Auckland's International or Domestic Airport or we'll get together in the early evening at the Copthorne Auckland City Hotel with a few drinks and run thru the programme for the Golf & Wine Trail.
Day 2 We'll play the challenging Formosa Resort Course mid-morning then depart for Hamilton for an overnight stay. There is a wide selection of restaurants very handy to our accommodation or you may prefer to just stay in house for a meal and a leisurely evening.
Day 3 8.30am departure to Taupo and our appointment on the 1st Tee at the Wairakei International Resort Course where over 110 Bunkers await every wayward shot you make make! We'll stay at the Wairakei Resort for 2 nights and again a huge selection of restaurants are available on the shores of Lake Taupo.
Day 4 The options here are either more Golf, this time at the Centennial Course right in the heart of Taupo, a days outing on the Lake with trout fishing available or a day's outing to the look-out region, The Top of the Bruce on Mt Ruapehu.
Day 5 We head east and over the Ahimanawa Ranges and into the wine area of Hawkes Bay where we'll base ourselves for the next 4 days. No golf today but, time allowing we'll make the effort to call at one of the local Winerys to sample whats on offer over the next few days. The region has over 70 vineyards to there's plenty on offer.
Day 6 Cape Kidnappers Resort Course awaits our arrival and we're greeted by some of the most spectacular hillside and cliff top scenery you'll ever wish to see.
Day 7 We'll go on a Wine Trail sampling the very best the region has to offer.
Day 8 Today we'll mix with locals at the historic Bridge Pa Golf Course just outside Hastings and enjoy their Course and their famous Clubhouse hospitality.
Day 9 It's travel day as we move from Napier back North-East and into the Bay of Plenty region for 2 nights stay at in the very cultural Rotorua and a chance to indulge in the New Zealand's Maori heritage.
Day 10 We'll play the Rotorua Golf Club aptly named Whakarewarewa. This evening we'll take in the pleasure and delight of a traditional Maori Cultural experience including the evening meal – a Hangi – something you won't want to miss.
Day 11 We move out onto the East Coast and travel the short distance to Mt Maunganui and play the Omanu Golf Course and again mix with the locals and enjoy their hospitality. We'll stay in central Mt Maunganui has a selection of near by restaurants or again you may enjoy just to sit back and relax.
Day 12 We'll play the Mt Maunganui Golf Course in the morning and mid-afternoon travel further North and stay at Puka Lodge, Pauanui. The Bay of Plenty also features some great wineries there will be stop at these on the journey North for further sampling.
Day 13 Just a short distance we're on the Tee at Lakes Resort which offers a challenge to every golfer and demands accuracy and planning, especially on the back 9-Holes locally referred to as Hells Corner! After our round we head to Auckland for our final 2 nights as a Tour Group.
Day 14 We head a short distance North across the Harbour Bridge and out onto the Whangaparaoa Peninsula and the challenge of the Gulf Harbour Country Club which offers more fabulous scenery and features looking over Auckland's Hauraki Gulf. This evening we'll all have a Farewell Dinner at Auckland's Skytower Restaurant.
