The Murray River Golfing Challenge
Day 1 Air New Zealand departure from Auckland for the 4hr flight to Melbourne and transfer for your overnight stay in the central city. Head out for a group dinner at one of the many fantastic restaurants and enjoy a drink or two to kick the tour off.
Day 2 Mid-morning departure for Cobram in the heart of the Murray River District, a 2 and half hour drive and book-in for our week's accommodation at El Sierra Lodge. For those that want to "iron-out" their game the Cobram-Barooga Course is available for quick 9 holes.
Day 3 Lets start with the local Cobram-Barooga West Course for our first days challenge. This course has wide fairways and large greens but still plenty of challenges, a great course to kick off the internal golf competition Don will be organising.
Day 4 Today we have a short journey across to the Corrowa Golf Club. The course is situated in the heart of the renowned Rutherglen wide district, after your round there will be a chance to sample some of the local produce.
Day 5 A 25min journey to the Yarrawonga Golf Course is on the cards today. This is the largest public access golf resort in Australia with 3 courses to choose from. We'll play either the Murray Course with its towering gum trees or the slightly shorter Lakes Course, both pretty demanding.
Day 6 The Rich River Golf Club is our next Golf Challenge, an hour away. Again 2 courses to choose either the West course, with tree lined fairways and tricky greens or the East course with large trees and big greens. Both courses are over 6,000m long!
Day 7 Today we are back at Cobram-Barooga Golf Club, this time on the Old Course, it's not overly long but the tight fairways and tricky layout provide some great holes!
Day 8 The Tocumwaal Golf Club is last of our official Murray River Challenge Courses.
Day 9 We pack-up and travel a short distance to the Shepparton Golf Course this time on the banks of the Goulburn River. After the round we continue our journey back towards Melbourne.
Day 10 A FREE day in the heart of Melbourne, a chance for sightseeing at maybe the MCG, Rod Laver Tennis Arena, Melbourne's Tallest Look-out Tower, the historic Melbourne Jail Tour, the Casino or even shopping!
Day 11 We'll travel down the Coast for our final game at Rose Bud on the Mornington Peninsula. Tonight we'll have our Final Tour Dinner and a chance to reflect on our Tour.
Day 12 We have our last look around Melbourne before our afternoon departure on Air New Zealand back across the Tasman arriving in Auckland around midnight.
